Reliance Group plans to build world's largest AI data center in India

Recently, media reported that Reliance, led by Indian business tycoon Mukesh Abani, is preparing to build what may become the world's largest artificial intelligence data center. The project will be located in Jamnagar, Gujarat, India. . The planned capacity of the data center reaches 3 gigawatts, which is far larger than the current largest Microsoft data center of 600 megawatts.

According to reports, the investment budget for the project is between US$20 billion and US$30 billion. Abani aims to primarily use renewable energy from the adjacent green energy complex, which is expected to include solar, wind, hydrogen and other forms of energy to power the data center. At the same time, Reliance Group also plans to purchase chips from Nvidia to support the construction and operation of data centers. Nvidia and Reliance Group announced their partnership in October last year to jointly build India's artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The launch of the Jamangarh project comes at a time when global demand for artificial intelligence is rising sharply.
