How to install DeepSeek R1 on your MacBook

First, you need to visit Ollama.com. Click the button and you will see three options, we will choose to install DeepSeek R1.

When installing the model, you will see options from 150 million to 671 billion parameters. The size of each model is different, and the file size also changes accordingly. For everyday use, a model with 7 billion or 8 billion parameters is usually enough, but if you want to install the smallest model, we will choose a version with 150 million parameters, which will take up about 1.1GB of space.
