Amazon recently further incorporated artificial intelligence into its shopping tools and launched a new feature "interest" aimed at creating a personalized and conversational search experience. Users can enter customization tips related to their interests, preferences and even budgets in the search bar, such as "model making kits and accessories for enthusiasts" or "coffee lovers' brewing tools and gadgets". This feature utilizes large language models (LLMs) to convert everyday languages into queries that traditional search engines can understand, thus providing more relevant product recommendations.
In addition, the "Interest" function will continue to work in the background, promptly notify users of new products matching their interests, and provide updates, replenishment information and discount activities for related products. Currently, this feature is open to some US users and can be used on iOS and Android devices through the Amazon Shopping app, or found under the "I" tab of the mobile website. The company plans to promote the feature to more U.S. customers in the coming months.
The launch of the "interest" feature is the natural process of Amazon continuing to integrate AI into its applications, adding a number of existing AI-driven special features, such as AI shopping assistant Rufus, AI shopping guides, review summary and AI-generated product information. As Amazon continues to improve its shopping experience, other companies may follow suit, and some companies have begun to upgrade.
