Sources revealed that the next round of financing for AI technology company Anthropic is expected to expand further. The Wall Street Journal reported that Anthropic, the technology company that develops the Claude program, is about to complete a new round of financing of $3.5 billion, with a valuation of $61.5 billion. The Wall Street Journal pointed out that Anthropic's initial financing target was $2 billion, but ultimately agreed to increase the financing due to enthusiastic response from investors.

It is reported that several well-known investment institutions are negotiating to participate in this round of financing, including Lightspeed Venture Partners, General Catalyst, Bessemer Venture Partners and Abu Dhabi investment company MGX. If this round of financing eventually reaches $3.5 billion, Anthropic's cumulative total financing will reach about $18 billion.

Anthropic released the latest version of the Claude3.7Sonnet program this week. The company has recently reached about US$1.2 billion in annual revenue, but is still in a loss-making state. It is reported that Anthropic plans to use the proceeds from the new round of financing to further develop more powerful technologies.
