Apple's recent large-scale investment in the field of artificial intelligence has attracted widespread attention. According to a report by Loop Capital analyst Ananda Baruah, Apple is spending $1 billion to buy NVIDIA's AI system to support the operation of its Apple Intelligence. Although Apple previously stated that it relies on its own Apple Silicon server to handle related tasks, the investment shows its further layout in the technology field.

Baruah pointed out that Apple is purchasing 250 NVIDIA NVL72 servers, each priced between $3.7 million and $4 million. These servers are equipped with 36 Grace CPUs and 72 Blackwell GPUs, with powerful computing power. Although these servers have not yet been officially launched, Apple has begun pre-ordering, showing its emphasis on future AI applications.

It is worth noting that these investments may be more used in research and development than direct to consumers. Federighi, Apple Senior Vice President, once mentioned that Apple Silicon servers set new standards in the industry's cloud processing, and emphasized that creating trust models is a key element in the technology to ensure the security and reliability of the software running on the server.

Apple's series of measures show that it attaches great importance to artificial intelligence technology, and its future development direction may have a profound impact on the industry.
