According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gulman, Apple has faced some challenges in rebuilding Siri to adapt to the era of generative artificial intelligence, and the company is expected to launch a "really modern, conversational Siri" version until the release of iOS 20 in 2027.
However, this does not mean that Siri has not updated before this. According to reports, a new version of Siri is expected to be launched in May this year, when it will integrate all the artificial intelligence features Apple has released in nearly a year.
The new version of Siri described by Gulman will use a "two-brain" system, one for executing old instructions such as setting timers and making calls, and the other for handling more complex queries and being able to leverage user data. The system, called "LLM Siri", is expected to be announced at the Global Developer Conference in June and is scheduled to go live in spring 2026.
Only after the new version is released, Gulman said that Apple can fully promote the development of advanced Siri's features, which may be launched in subsequent years.
With the development of artificial intelligence technology, users' expectations for voice assistants are constantly increasing. Apple realizes that if it does not adapt to this trend as soon as possible, Siri will face greater pressure in the fierce market competition. While the company strives to provide users with a smarter interactive experience while maintaining its original features, it will take time to achieve true modernization.
