OpenAI's ChatGPT is experiencing significant growth. The latest data shows that its paid users exceeded 20 million in just three months, an increase of nearly 30% from the end of last year. This growth reflects users' recognition of ChatGPT in code writing, content creation, health consulting and financial planning.

It is estimated that ChatGPT's current monthly revenue has reached at least US$415 million, with annualized revenue of approximately US$5 billion. This is thanks to a $20 monthly subscription for ChatGPT Plus, and a Pro package for business users up to $200. In addition, developers and platforms that call their models through APIs have also contributed a lot of revenue, with API business revenue expected to be approximately US$2 billion in 2023.

It is worth noting that despite the rapid growth of total users, the proportion of paid users has declined, from 5% to 4%. At present, ChatGPT's weekly active users have reached 500 million, an increase of 43% from the end of last year.

To support user growth and sustained R&D investment, OpenAI is seeking to raise $40 billion at a valuation of $260 billion. The company said it expects at least five years to make a profit.

The continuous growth and innovation of OpenAI demonstrates the huge potential of artificial intelligence in multiple fields, and also reminds the challenges faced by artificial intelligence companies in the process of development.
