As the "Call of Duty" series continues to be popular, Activision Blizzard recently confirmed that the series of games has begun to use generative artificial intelligence technology during the development process. Although the player community has long noticed it, such as some strange character designs in the game, the official statement has attracted widespread attention.

In the product page of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Steam, it is explicitly mentioned that "our team uses generative artificial intelligence tools to help develop in-game assets." However, the specific usage is not specified in detail. According to existing information, some in-game Calling Cards and other unlockable appearance items are made through this technology. What is even more surprising is that these items are often sold in carrier bags in bundled in real currency.

In addition to the appearance of the characters, some in-game promotional images also use generative artificial intelligence production. For example, some of the images that have appeared in the game recently show visual effects that are significantly affected by the technology. This approach has aroused doubts from many players, believing that as one of the world's largest game series, Activision Blizzard's team strength should not rely on technical means to reduce costs.

As the gaming industry gradually shifts to new technologies, the trend of using generative artificial intelligence may become increasingly obvious, but this also disappoints some players. After all, the Call of Duty series has many dedicated teams investing a lot of resources to develop, and it seems a bit incredible that it still chooses to "take a small path" in some aspects.
