Elon Musk launches "The Smartest on Earth" AI chatbot Grok 3

Elon Musk's company xAI released the new generation of AI chatbot Grok 3 on February 17, 2025 at 9:30 am. Musk calls its transformation "the smartest artificial intelligence on Earth."

At the press conference, xAI demonstrated the advanced features of Grok 3, including a high level of reasoning capabilities, a system from text to video, and a system of corrections.

Musk explained in detail the origin of the name "Grok" at the press conference. It originated from Robert Heinlein's science fiction novel "The Alien", in which the book "grok" is used by a character who grew up on Mars, representing a deep understanding and empathy.

Musk emphasized that Grok 3 is designed with this deep understanding and empathy as its core concept.
