On March 10, Foxconn Hon Hai took an important step on the road of technological innovation and officially launched its first AI reasoning model "FoxBrain". This model is not only a self-breakthrough of Foxconn, but also marks a new starting point for Taiwan Province in the field of AI reasoning. Foxconn said that FoxBrain will cover a number of functions such as data analysis, mathematical operations, reasoning capabilities and code generation, and plans to open source in the future to facilitate broader technology applications and community cooperation.
According to Foxconn, the training process of the model used 120 powerful Nvidia H100GPUs, and the model was successfully built in just one month. FoxBrain is developed based on Meta Llama 3.1, and has specially optimized the traditional Chinese processing capabilities, aiming to better serve the Taiwan Province and the Chinese-speaking market. Although Foxconn emphasizes that FoxBrain is slightly inferior to some models of its competitor DeepSeek in some performance, it still shows strong potential and room for development.
MediaTek is also exploring the field of AI with Foxconn. Long before Foxconn launched FoxBrain, MediaTek had launched the Llama-Breeze2 series AI model, focusing on lightweight applications, suitable for mobile phones and thin and light notebooks and other devices. It mainly relies on Meta Llama3.2 to develop, and also pay attention to traditional Chinese processing capabilities.
Foxconn's launch of FoxBrain this time is obviously a positive response to the current AI technology trend. Faced with the increasingly fierce market, Foxconn's entry has injected new vitality into the AI industry in Taiwan, and also laid a solid foundation for subsequent technological research and development. With the release of FoxBrain, Foxconn looks forward to working with industry partners to promote the development of AI reasoning technology and achieve wider application implementation.
In the future, Foxconn also plans to attract more developers and researchers to participate in the FoxBrain ecosystem through open source to form benign technological interaction and innovation. It can be foreseen that FoxBrain will not only leave a deep footprint in the field of AI reasoning, but will also become an important force in promoting scientific and technological progress in Taiwan Province.
