According to the analysis of browser researcher Leopeva64, the Gemini AI assistant has been initially formed in Chrome Canary. Users can customize their opening method in settings, including shortcut keys and menu displays. After clicking on, the Gemini icon will appear next to the window control icon. Click to start the AI Assistant in the floating window.

Compared to Edge's C opilot, Gemini's layout is different. Its icon is located above the window, and the floating window design ensures that it does not obstruct browsing content. Although this design is still being adjusted, Google plans to further optimize in future versions to allow AI assistants to better integrate into the browsing environment.

In addition, Google plans to extend the Gemini feature to the taskbar, where users can choose to display their icons in the system tray to start the Assistant from the taskbar at any time. The assistant will provide a variety of features including voice search to ensure users can easily access information while browsing. It is worth noting that Gemini still needs to be run through Chrome, similar to the Edge-dependent pattern of C opilot.

This move will bring users a smarter browsing experience. The addition of Gemini AI may change the way we use browsers, making smart assistants the right-hand assistant for every user.
