On March 5, Google launched an exciting new feature - "AI Mode". This feature is designed to help users solve complex problems more efficiently, making the search experience more intelligent and intuitive.

In its official blog post, Google invites users to participate in the testing of this feature, hoping to bring new changes to information retrieval through the power of AI.

"AI mode" allows users to ask more complex questions and generate more detailed and intuitive answers based on search results. The design intention of this model is to solve the pain points that users often need to query repeatedly in the past search process to get answers.

Through simple input query, users can enjoy a brand new search experience by simply clicking the new "AI Mode" button. In addition, the AI mode also sets a shortcut entrance to "In-depth Exploration", where users can directly skip regular search results and focus on content generated by AI.

In order to better serve mobile users, AI mode supports uploading pictures and voice input, but currently only provides text output. This function also integrates the user's historical search records, making it easier for users to view previous query records at any time.

The powerful "AI mode" is powered by the customized version of Gemini2.0. It can access real-time data sources and knowledge graphs, use "query extension" technology to extract information from multiple sub-topics and data sources, and present it to users in a comprehensive manner. If the system fails to provide sufficient information, the user will be directed to the web search results to ensure the comprehensiveness of the information.

In early testing, the user's query length doubled compared to traditional searches, and subsequent questions were asked 25% of the time, showing the user's positive response to this new model. Google plans to gradually open this feature to all users, and the current testing phase is mainly aimed at advanced users.

Google's "AI model" is not only a technological innovation, but also an important milestone in the future search experience, indicating that the way users obtain information will undergo fundamental changes.
