HERE and AWS reach a $10 billion partnership to jointly promote innovation in AI map solutions

Recently, HERE Technologies, a location data and technology platform headquartered in the Netherlands, and Amazon Cloud Services (AWS) announced a ten-year cooperation agreement, with the total value of the cooperation reaching US$10 billion. The collaboration aims to revolutionize the development of software-defined vehicles (SDV) and drive innovation in the automotive industry.

Under the agreement, HERE will combine AWS's high-performance cloud capabilities with its own artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) models to provide cutting-edge positioning software to automakers and mobility companies. The application of this technology will help accelerate the development of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). HERE has also launched a tool called SceneXtract, which combines HERE's high-definition real-time map data with AWS's generated AI services to enable automobile manufacturing. Vendors can quickly create simulation environments, thereby significantly reducing testing time and costs.

At the same time, HERE also launched its AI assistant, a solution designed to revolutionize navigation and logistics for software-defined vehicles and transportation companies. The assistant leverages multiple generative AI large language models (LLMs) to provide location-aware guidance and natural language-driven insights, capable of providing users with personalized travel planning recommendations based on driving habits, real-time traffic conditions and specific preferences. Key capabilities of the AI ​​assistant include complex trip planning, smart electric vehicle (EV) route planning, and improved vehicle safety through precise map data integration.

Accurate real-time positioning information is crucial to ADAS and autonomous driving technology. This accuracy not only allows the car to respond to the surrounding environment in a timely manner, but also predicts and adapts to optimize multi-station electric vehicle charging routes. HERE's real-time mapping solutions will improve navigation, EV efficiency and route optimization, promising to reduce software development time and accelerate the deployment of innovations while meeting the needs of complex data processing.

In addition to the automotive industry, HERE and AWS have also launched innovative transportation and logistics solutions in a strategic cooperation agreement (SCA). Based on HERE's location intelligence and AWS's cloud infrastructure, these tools are designed to optimize supply chains, enhance real-time asset tracking and cargo visibility, and support the sustainable delivery goals of enterprises and independent software vendors.
