Google announced the acquisition of Israeli cloud security company Wiz for $32 billion, setting a record for its acquisition. Wiz focuses on artificial intelligence cloud security solutions and has served 40% of Fortune 100 companies with annual revenue of approximately $500 million. Previously, Google had tried to acquire for $23 billion but failed. This time, the price increase was nearly $10 billion and restarted the transaction, aiming to strengthen its cloud service security capabilities.
After the acquisition is completed, Wiz will operate as an independent division, with co-founder Assaf Rappaport continuing to lead. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2025 and still needs to be approved by regulatory approval. The acquisition marks Google's major layout in the field of cloud security, and AI-driven security solutions will become the core of future technical guarantees.
