According to "Intelligent Emergence", after Luo Yonghao tried in live e-commerce, AR, AI assistant and other fields, his latest entrepreneurial idea was to focus on the field of AIOS (AI system). To this end, Luo Yonghao poached the top 50 Xiaomi employees and senior operating system personnel Wang Wenjun.

Luo Yonghao entered AIOS this time and did not re-found the company, but instead continued to develop his business based on The Red Line, a company that previously engaged in AR products. Luo Yonghao's interest in AIOS has long been traced. He once revealed that the real purpose of making AIOS is to return to the hardware track, and plans to do AIOS first and then make AI mobile phones. Wang Wenjun, who joined AIOS with Luo Yonghao this time, has served as the chief architect of Xiaomi MIUI for a long time and has been deeply involved in the birth and development of MIUI systems.

Artificial intelligence, robots

Although the AIOS leader is in place, the team is still focusing on the beta AI assistant J1Assistant, which was launched in early January. Luo Yonghao founded The Red Line in 2022, with an angel round of financing of about US$50 million, and investors include Meituan Dragon Ball, DJI Innovation, Jingwei, etc.

However, its AR glasses have not been launched for a long time, but instead launched J1Assistant, an AI assistant with a very "hammer style" UI interface in early 2024. An investor revealed that Luo Yonghao hopes to support subsequent financing through products that integrate the concept of "AI Agent", but the beta version responds mediocrely. J1Assistant is an aggregated AI assistant integrating voice interaction, task management and intelligent search. Luo Yonghao plans to use it as a system capability to deeply integrate it with the operating system.

It is understood that J1Assistant was developed by the company's CTO Zhu Yongsheng, and Luo Yonghao was not satisfied with the product and repeatedly pushed it back and remade it. Industry insiders analyzed that the operating system is an underlying system project and requires huge R&D investment and support from a professional technical team. Luo Yonghao hopes that the release of AI assistant products can support the second round of financing. Therefore, the next month is a key window period. If financing can be successfully raised, AIOS research and development and AI mobile phone planning are expected to be smoothly promoted.
