SymbyAI, an innovator in the field of scientific research, announced that it has completed a $2.1 million seed round of financing, with investors including well-known institutions such as Drive Capital and CharacterVC. This SaaS platform, which focuses on using artificial intelligence to simplify scientific research processes is creating an unprecedented integrated working environment for researchers.

SymbyAI was co-founded by Ashia Livaudais and Michael House last year, and its birth stems from the scientific research dilemma experienced by Livaudais personally. "The foundation of Symby is formed when I create solutions to the problems I face every day," Livaudais said in an interview with TechCrunch. "When we realized we could successfully and repeatedly cut the critical research process from months to hours, the need for productized versions began to emerge in almost every conversation I've discovered."

SymbyAI provides researchers with a structured work environment that allows them to seamlessly access papers, code, data, and experimental records on the same platform. The platform not only helps users track research progress, but also comes with innovative AI capabilities designed to assist peer review and reproduce research results.

Unlike many platforms that rely on third-party AI services, SymbyAI is particularly striking when it comes to building on proprietary AI solutions. "Users don't have to worry about accidentally sending confidential information to OpenAI, Anthropic or any other company," Livaudais emphasized. The platform ensures that the intellectual property of researchers is entirely owned by the original creator and will not be used to train the underlying models of SymbyAI.

SymbyAI is actively building partnerships with academic publishers, research institutions and universities. The company's financing journey began with Livaudais participating in the gBeta program under Gener8tor, through which she met the first investors, including Antler. According to Livaudais, Antler seized early investment opportunities by participating in the seed round of preliminary financing.

The company said it will use the new funds to promote business development and implement preliminary cooperation plans to further consolidate its position in the field of AI-assisted scientific research.
