The legal battle between Elon Musk and OpenAI has recently ushered in new progress in the U.S. federal court. Musk tried to prevent OPENAI from participating in the creation ten years ago to transform into a traditional profit -making company, but his request suffered setbacks in court. Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers said at a hearing held in Auckland, California that he was unwilling to issue a prohibition of the dispute over several months.

Musk's lawyer said in court that OpenAI's reorganization may cause "irreversible loss" to Musk, but Rogers expressed doubts about this and believes that this argument is a bit far -fetched. She stressed that in the rapidly growing artificial intelligence industry, plans to block OpenAI for a long time are not appropriate. The judge pointed out that her last release of the preliminary injunction was in the 2021 Epic lawsuit with Apple, demonstrating her cautious attitude towards similar cases.

Although the judge did not immediately issue a formal order, she said she would allow Musk to sue OpenAI on some charges and may ask him to testify in court. Musk accused OPENAI reaching a $ 13 billion investment agreement with Microsoft after his resignation of the board of directors in 2018, departing from his original charity mission and implementing anti -competitive behavior.

OpenAI responded that Musk's allegations were basically not foundation, and it was a harassment of the company. With the upgrade of the battle between the two parties, OpenAI also announced a series of emails and text messages, showing that Musk supported the company to adopt a more traditional corporate structure to reflect the complexity of the case.

Analysts believe that the lawsuit may not enter the formal trial stage until the end of 2026 or 2027, which means that Musk's XAI startup will face more severe challenges in financing and technical catch -up. Since its establishment in 2023, the valuation of XAI has increased to $ 50 billion, but the gap between OpenAI is still significant.

With the advancement of the case, in the next few months, the "billionaire's battle for billionaires" may arouse more attention and discussion, and the fate of Musk and Openai will still be full of variables.
