Musk xAI releases Grok3: Challenge ChatGPT, known as "the smartest AI on Earth"

On February 18, 2025, xAI, an artificial intelligence company under Elon Musk, officially released the latest generation of big model Grok3. Musk called it "the smartest artificial intelligence on Earth" and said Grok3 surpassed neighbors such as ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek and Claude in demonstration benchmarks.

Grok3 performs well in math, science and coding benchmarks, and possesses similar reasoning capabilities as DeepSeek R1 and OpenAI o3Mini, and can demonstrate detailed thinking chains to let users understand their thinking process.

In addition, Grok3 also has in-depth search function, which can help users quickly find the help information they need and save a lot of search time. “This is our first generation of extensive agents that not only code not only engineers, researchers and scientists, but it can actually help everyone answer questions you have every day,” xAI explains.

Grok voice assistant is also being perfected and is expected to be launched in the coming weeks. Musk also revealed that Grok is expected to take the SpaceX Rockets within two years.

Grok3 will be the first to support Premium Plus subscribers on the X platform, and users need the X app to view all advanced features. In addition, Grok3 will also be available on the official website and iOS applications.

Musk stressed that Grok3 is still in beta version at the moment, and there may be imperfections, but the official will improve it quickly.
