At the 2025 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), NVIDIA launched a new personal AI supercomputer called "Project DIGITS". Compared with traditional huge computers, this device is only the size of a mini machine, but its performance is up to petaflops, making it the "super little giant" in the industry. The release of this machine has attracted widespread attention, especially today as AI technology continues to develop.
Project DIGITS is equipped with a super chip "GB10" co-designed with MediaTek. The chip integrates Blackwell GPU, 20-core Arm architecture Grace CPU, 128GB high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and 4TB solid-state drive (SSD), giving it powerful computing capabilities. NVIDIA stated that this machine will cost approximately US$3,000 (approximately RMB 21,998) and is scheduled to be released in May this year.
Ben Reitzes, an analyst at Melius Research, pointed out in a research report that it is really shocking that NVIDIA has launched such a high-performance but relatively low-price product. However, Project DIGITS is not targeted at ordinary consumers, but at small businesses, research institutions, and educational institutions that are engaged in machine learning research. These users usually do not have enough funds to build a data center or purchase cloud computing resources, and this machine can meet their basic needs.
Reitzes further believes that Project DIGITS may be an important step for NVIDIA to enter the US$50 billion PC and notebook chip market. In the future, it may be able to integrate more resources and even realize the possibility of its own Windows system.
