At CES, the elderly care technology company Onscreen released a tablet application for the elderly, aiming to provide convenient communication and companionship services for the elderly. The app runs on Android tablets and iPads and is an important addition to the company's existing TV services.
"Every day in the United States, 10,000 people age older. More than 22 million people over the age of 75, and more than 13 million people over the age of 80 struggle with technology use," said Onscreen CEO Costin Tuculescu. This problem is only getting worse."

It is understood that the United States is currently facing a serious challenge of nursing staff shortage, and the number of elderly people in need of care far exceeds the available nursing resources. The prevalence of social isolation and loneliness also increases the risk of dementia among older adults.
Tuculescu said: "On the other hand, the adult children of the elderly are starting to worry about their parents' condition. They want to see their parents often to make sure they are doing well, but for 80-year-old parents, it is not easy to use video calls."
The newly launched tablet application is based on Onscreen’s previously successful TV-based Moment senior care platform. This application does not require the purchase of new devices, and families can directly use existing tablets, lowering the threshold for use. The main functions of the application include medication reminders, remote communication, life records, etc., which can help family members better pay attention to and take care of the elderly.
"The launch of this app at CES2025 is an important step in opening up the Onscreen ecosystem," said Tuculescu. "From the beginning, we have been committed to simplifying the use of technology so that seniors feel supported and cared for. By providing tablet-based Solutions, we are removing barriers and helping more families provide meaningful care."
