According to the latest reports, with its powerful paid artificial intelligence software, OpenAI is expected to usher in explosive revenue growth in 2025, jumping from $3.7 billion last year to a staggering $12.7 billion, an increase of more than triple. OpenAI is optimistic about future development and expects revenue to continue to maintain rapid growth next year, and is expected to exceed US$29.4 billion, showing huge market potential.

Since launching the phenomenon-level product ChatGPT more than two years ago, OpenAI has actively built a diversified subscription service for the consumer and corporate markets. This strategy has begun to show results. Last September, the company announced that its corporate version of ChatGPT had exceeded 1 million paid users, marking a steady advancement of its commercialization process.

However, the rapid growth is also accompanied by huge cost pressure. Developing cutting-edge artificial intelligence systems requires a lot of capital investment, including chip procurement, data center construction, and attracting top talents. People familiar with the matter revealed that OpenAI expects it to be difficult to achieve positive cash flow before 2029. Nevertheless, the company is confident in the future, with annual revenue expected to exceed $125 billion by then.

It is worth noting that OpenAI recently launched a brand new inference model o1-pro. The model is unique in pricing strategy, with input prices up to $150 per million token and output prices of $600. In comparison, the input price of o1-pro is almost twice that of OpenAI's own GPT-4.5 model, and ten times that of the early model o1. Compared with other more price-competitive models on the market, the pricing difference is significant.
