The international standards for elderly care robots formulated by my country are officially released

According to CCTV, recently, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) officially issued the international standards for elderly care robots formulated by my country (IEC63310 "Property Guidelines for Active Assisted Living Robots Used in Interconnected Home Environments").

This standard focuses on the needs and characteristics of the elderly in daily life, health care and other aspects of the elderly in the interconnected home environment based on the physiological, psychological and behavioral characteristics of the elderly, and provides a benchmark for the product design, manufacturing, testing and certification of elderly care robots.

According to data from the World Health Organization, it is estimated that the global population over 60 years old will reach 2.1 billion by 2050, of which 426 million are over 80 years old. As they age, the elderly will experience functional attenuation and even disability in perception, physical strength and cognition.

The emergence of elderly care robots is of great significance. On the one hand, it can reduce the burden on care of the elderly by society and families, and on the other hand, it can support the elderly to live independently at home with dignity and high-quality life.
