Tinder recently announced a collaboration with OpenAI to launch a new AI voice flirting game "Game Game", which uses OpenAI's voice mode and GPT-4o inference model to provide users with a virtual role-playing experience. Players will interact with AI characters in various hypothetical scenarios and get ratings based on flirting skills.
Tinder stressed that voice data in the game will not be used to train AI models. The game's design specifically incorporates certain "embarrassing" elements, aiming to allow users to practice social skills in a relaxed and humorous way. According to Tinder data, 64% of young singles believe that modest embarrassment helps to create real connections.
Spencer Rascoff, the new CEO of Tinder’s parent company, experienced the game himself and shared his interaction with the AI character “Mila” on Instagram. However, media testing found that when the game is used on Bluetooth speakers, AI voice may have echo problems, affecting the experience.
