Author: LoRA Time: 06 Mar 2025 788

Recently, Trump shared an AI-generated video called "Trump Gaza" on his social platform Truth Social, which shows the war-torn Gaza Strip portrayed as a resort paradise similar to Dubai. In the video, the family walked out of the ruins and came to a beachfront resort with tall buildings, while Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu were drinking cocktails in a sun chair, while Elon Musk next to him was tearing up flat bread for snacks.

The creator of the video is Los Angeles-based filmmaker Solo Avital, who said the video is a political satire of Trump’s so-called “Gaza Real Estate Development Plan.” The plan aims to build the Gaza region into the "Riviera of the Middle East" and proposes the idea of cleaning up the local population of about 2 million. Avital used AI tools when he created this video in February, which took less than eight hours. He was very surprised by the rapid spread of the video.

Avitar noted that the sharing of the video was not approved or authorized by them. He and his business partner Ariel Flomon have shared videos in private circles, but they suggested withdrawing them after realizing that it might cause discomfort. Despite this, the video was posted on social media by Trump without explanation.

On social media, Avitar received thousands of messages, with friends reminding him that Trump shared the video. His reaction to this is that the media's interpretation of the video is completely contrary to his original intention of creation. He hopes this experience will spark public discussions about the rights and responsibilities of generative AI use.

In addition, UC Berkeley professor Haney Farid also expressed his views on the incident, pointing out that AI-generated videos will become more common in the future and highlighting the potential risks posed by this technology. He warned that more and more false content may flow into the Internet in the future, affecting the public's common perception.

Avitar is optimistic about AI, believing that the technology can stimulate creativity, but also acknowledges the need for proper regulation of its use to avoid malicious use.
