How to use IPAdapter V2 (IPAdapter Plus)?

The latest update to IPAdapter introduces IPAdapter V2, also known as IPAdapter Plus. Note that IPAdapter V2 requires the latest version of ComfyUI, and upgrading to IPAdapter V2 will cause any previous workflows that depend on IPAdapter V1 to fail.

RunComfy ComfyUI version

To ensure a seamless transition to IPAdapter V2 while maintaining compatibility with existing workflows using IPAdapter V1, RunComfy supports two versions of ComfyUI, so you can choose the version you want.

Version 24.03.28.0 (current): Release on March 28, 2024. This version supports IPAdapter V1.

Version 24.04.13.0 (beta): Release on April 13, 2024. This version supports IPAdapter V2 (IPAdapter Plus).

How to use IPAdapter V2

Here are two options for using IPAdapter V2 in RunComfy:

1. Upload your own workflow using IPAdapter V2: When starting the machine, please select version 24.04.13.0 (Beta).

2. With RunComfy certified workflow and IPAdapter V2, it will automatically use version 24.04.13.0 (beta).

If you still find an error on the IPAdapter V2 node after following the steps above, it may be because you installed IPAdapter Plus before, but the version is outdated. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Use ComfyUI Manager to uninstall IPAdapter Plus.

2. Restart ComfyUI

3. Refresh your browser.

This way, you will be able to use the latest version of IPAdapter Plus that has been preinstalled on RunComfy Beta directly.

How to use IPAdapter V1

If you need to continue using IPAdapter V1 and want your existing IPAdapter V1 workflow to work properly, you have the following options:

1. When starting the machine, you only need to select version 24.03.28.0 (current).

2. The preconfigured workflows of RunComfy and IPAdapter V1 will automatically use version 24.03.28.0 (current version).

If you still find an error on the IPAdapter V1 node after following the steps above, it may be because you installed IPAdapter V2 before, which makes IPAdapter V1 unavailable. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Use ComfyUI Manager to uninstall IPAdapter Plus.

2. Restart ComfyUI

3. Refresh your browser.

By doing so, you will be able to use IPAdapter V1 that is already preinstalled on the current version of RunComfy.
